The SRT trim carries a plethora of high-performance features that truly show how raw power was a big focus for this lineup. The 6.4L HEMI V8 Engine outputting 475 HP is more than enough for a quick launch time or getting up those difficult off-road paths. Brembo Six-Piston High-Performance Brakes & Bilstein Active-Damping High-Performance Suspension are also both included. Which gives a smooth experience during hard breaks and such.

The SRT Hellcat offers all the same bells and whistles of the SRT, but with a massively upgraded engine. It also has a Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 Engine with 710 HP… Yes, you read that right. Once the battery is depleted, the Pacifica will get a combined city/highway rating of around 30mpg during those long road trips or drives that are bound to come. The new and improved use of power and gas in the engine feels phenomenally efficient and allows you to go almost 520 miles between every gas station stop. Numbers like that make this hybrid minivan one of the greenest electric vehicles available in the market today. Guess that explains why this beloved model has been getting so many rave reviews!

Tax Credits & Fuel Saving All-Year Round

The EPA released statements estimating that the 2021 Pacifica could save you an average $2,250 annually in fuel costs! While the hybrid costs $4,800 more when buying the base Touring form, Pacifica owners still qualify for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. As noted before, even without the tax credit, the Pacifica knocks many other hybrid minivans out of the ballpark.

Lacking Power Under The Hood

The Pacifica is one of the most efficient vans we’ve ever tested and sold to our OKC buyers. However, you can definitely see where Chrysler had to make their sacrifices to deliver such a product.

The two motors under the hood are powered by a single 16-kwh lithium-ion battery that is stored under the middle of the van. Which explains why there are no Stow-N-Go seats in the middle row (kind of a bummer). Because of the total 260 horsepower compared to the 287 provided with the non-hybrid model, the Pacifica may feel a little sluggish at passing speeds. It also does not offer paddle shifters in the standard package. This makes it impossible to override the automatic shift programming, if you go with the base model.

Improved Safety & Technology

This is where the vehicle definitely shines in the work they put into it. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2021 Pacifica Hybrid an overall safety rating of five out of five stars! It received five stars in the side crash test and four in the frontal crash and rollover tests.

It comes with all the standard safety technologies that many modern vehicles equip along with the option to integrate advanced technology features like a surround-view parking camera system, automatic lane detection, parallel and perpendicular park assist, Chrysler “KeySense” (set speed and audio volume limits for secondary drivers), and a front parking sensor setup. A rear entertainment system is integrated into the back for all those extra passengers that get “antsy” in the car easily (we know how it is), but what truly stands out for this model is the optional “FamCam.” This interesting little addition allows parents to see a sharp, bird’s eye view of the rear two rows of seats on the front info display to stop those squabbling siblings and check on sleepy toddlers.

Flexible Seating Options

Soccer games, late night parties, family events, whatever it may be, you can rest assured that you’ll have enough space. The 2021 Pacifica can fit up to 7 people (comfortably) and offers plenty of options through their Stow-N’-Go seating design to collapse the third row down completely into the ground of the van. While the second row does not have Stow-N’-Go seating, they can be completely removed using Chrysler’s easy-to-use pull straps. The van offers plenty of walking width and height between the seats and doors.

Versatile Cargo Space

We don’t just recommend this year’s model for our review because of the new technology and safety features though. The 2021 hybrid Pacifica is an absolute beast in the storage department and contains a surprising amount of hidden compartments, cubbies, an in-floor bins for anybody to use so you can optimize for exactly how much space you need depending on the trip and who’s coming along. The Pacifica is capable of providing up to 140.5 cubic feet of space with both rows folded down.

So when you’re unintentionally (or intentionally) getting a little air off that speed bump you didn’t see coming or going on an adventure forging your own path in lesser known territory, this will be able to identity that your tires are not currently in touch with the tarmac beneath and will adjust the powertrain control system to help avoid any damage to the vehicle upon its reintroduction to the road. And the low-range gearing and 11.8inches of clearance will be the best friend to any of our rock climbing buddies. Rock climbing from INSIDE YOUR TRUCK, that is.

You don’t have to be a stunt driving expert either when transitioning between different geographical surfaces. The drive modes are laid out for you. All you have to do is choose from Auto, Sport, Tow, Custom, Mud/Sand, Rock or Baja, and the truck is designed to make the proper powertrain, suspension and steering parameter alterations for you to suit the conditions.
As for the speed and powering through heavy loads, the hood and grill were designed for the engine to be able to take in all the air it could possibly need, down to gaps inside the RAM letters themselves. The supercharged Hemi lives in a beefed-up steel ladder frame, 74% newer than other Ram 1500 models. The Raptor’s 450-horsepower EcoBoost turbocharged V6 is nothing to be sneezed at, but the TRX (T-rex) has it beat by 252 HP. Let’s face it, we’ve seen Jurassic Park. The Raptors were fierce contenders in their own right. But the T-Rex… was the real king of the island

Dodge Hornet Creating a Second Buzz?

You may remember hearing about the Hornet back in 2006. Dodge had revealed their concept car that looked like a mix between a Chevy PT Cruiser, Kia Soul and a Mini Cooper. The hornet was a tall-roofed rally inspired hatchback that focused on maximizing the interior space and showing an aggressive attitude in appearance. Just recently, applications for trademarks were filled with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the “Dodge Hornet” and “Hornet”, as well as in Canada and Mexico.

Dodge currently has a small lineup of models that consists of only the Challenger, Charger, Durango and Journey. We suspect that many Dodge fans are ready for something new to come to their lineup.
