In a market where more and more car companies are starting to push their resources towards hybrids and electric cars, Dodge is going against the grain by bringing back a classic for drivers who still appreciate power behind the wheel of their car on the Oklahoma highways.

Dodge has announced the return of one of its classic models of muscle car from the early 70s: the 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon. While not much is yet known about the new model of Demon, it has been revealed by Fiat Chrysler’s head of passenger car brands, Tim Kuniskis, that this new car will be more powerful than the Dodge Challenger Hellcat that was released a few years ago- Which had a 6.8-liter, V-8 engine that produced an already impressive 707 horsepower.

According to Dodgedemon.net, the original Dodge Demon featured a similar body as the Plymouth Duster, and came in two separate two-door models. The engine featured a 275 hp four barrel 340 V-8 wedge engine and heavy-duty three-speed manual transmission. It can be assumed that the new 2018 model of Demon will be modernized from head to toe, but will still have some resembling features of its ancestor.

In a time where SUVs and mid-sized sedans are at their most popular, Jeep fans will be excited to hear about the March release of the new and revamped 2017 Jeep Compass. 

After the massive success of the recently released Jeep Renegade, Jeep looks to make another big splash in the mid-sized SUV market with the Compass. Taking past complaints of the older models of Compass being just a little too bland into consideration, Jeep has completely revamped and modernized the newest addition to its new car family.

“The Renegade is more Wrangler-focused, with lots of right angles and round headlights, whereas the Compass is clearly taking styling cues from the Grand Cherokee, so it’s more sleek and progressive,” said Jeep brand director, Scott Talon. 

2017 Jeep Compass Trim Options

The Compass comes available in four different models: Standard, Sport, Latitude, and the luxurious Limited. All models come equipped with the same gasoline based engine- a 2.4-liter “Tigershark” four-cylinder that pumps out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, also coming available in either six-speed manual or six-speed automatic, with an option for nine-speed automatic. The EPA estimates for the compass are an impressive 22/30-mpg city/highway. 

Jeep Compass Upgrade Availabilities

The Compass will also include numerous great options and upgrades, depending on the model you get. The Safety and Security package includes park assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection and more. The Navigation Package will include an 8.5-inch touch screen infotainment system, likely making it one of the most popular options. Lastly, the Advanced Technology package will include forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning and HID headlights. All models will also come with the option for a dual-pane sunroof, making it a great for the beautiful Oklahoma weather.

The 2015 Hyundai Santa Cruz has been named the Concept Truck of the Year at the 14th annual North American Concept Vehicle of the Year Awards at the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s in Plymouth, MI. The awards recognize the vehicles most likely to shape the future of the automobile industry, with more than two dozen jurors involved in a selection process of over 30 vehicles introduced throughout various North American auto shows.

Price Increase for 2016 Dodge Hellcat

The 2015 Challenger and Charger Hellcat models are a bargain; sales charts prove that easily enough. The 707 hp machines were virtually unstoppable, so much so that Dodge was forced to close orders due to the high demand. Even though the Hellcat models topped the $60,000 price tag, they were a great deal for those with the need for speed. For 2016, the Hellcats are getting some new equipment and, unfortunately, a price increase.

The 2016 Hellcat price increases come as a result of the extreme popularity in the 2015 model year. Dodge closed orders to keep up with a long waitlist. Even though the automaker was so busy filling orders, they still took in customer feedback.

As a result, both the Challenger and Charger Hellcat models will receive more standard equipment and a price increase to match.

For the 2016 model year, new standard equipment includes navigation and Laguna leather seats. The 2016 Challenger SRT Hellcat will see its price bumped up $4,200 to $65,190 while the 2016 Charger SRT Hellcat rises $3,650 to $68,190. Both prices include destination and fuel economy tax.

Don’t worry – the 6.2L HEMI V8 still launches out of the gate with 707hp and 650 lb-ft of torque!
