Last Chance: Dodge announced the discontinuation of the iconic V8-powered Challenger and Charger muscle cars in August 22.

Last Chance To Own A Gas Powered Dodge Challenger

  • Dodge has announced the discontinuation of as powered Dodge Challengers by the end of 2023.
  • Dodge is having a party in honor of the Dodge Challenger that will feature specials, discounts, and more through the end of 2023.
  • The future of Dodge looks like electric muscle cars similar to the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT.

For all you classic Dodge Challenger and Charger fanatics out there, grab a box of tissues because this is your last chance to own a gas powered Dodge Challenger and/or Charger. Dodge announced the discontinuation of V8-powered Challenger and Charger muscle cars in August of 2022. Ridding the autobrand of its internal combustion engine models indefinitely. The Charger has been in production since 2005 and the Challenger since 2008. Both of their lines ending by December 2023. Don’t fret, though.

Dodge has specials lined up for the remaining productions that you literally won’t find under the hood of any other vehicle. Keep reading to find out more about the combustion engine model farewell celebration, some of Dodge’s celebration specials, where you can buy your own Dodge Challenger or Charger with a V8-engine, and even a sneak peak about the first electric Dodge muscle car.

A Dodge Celebration

Dodge is having a party and EVERYONE’s invited! This celebration is in honor of the last gas powered Dodge Challenger and Charger production. This party is complete with special editions and options including a commemorative “Last Call” badge under the hood of every 2023 vehicle (WE’VE GOTTA HAVE IT). This farewell celebration is to last until the end of 2023.

The 2023 4-door Charger starts at $32,645 and the 2024 Challenger for next year comes in at $30,545. In a virtual briefing, Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis said, “During the next 14 months it’s going to be what I call the end of the era and of these Brampton-built cars, and it’s a pretty big milestone for us.” That it is Kuniskis, that it is. Here at Barry Sanders Supercenter, we love positive progress as much as the next dealership, but we also admit that the V8 Dodge Challenger and Charger will be dearly missed.

Last Gas Powered Dodge Challenger Specials

If you don’t remember Dodge’s highly customizable Jailbreak ordering option then you’re in for an extra special treat! The Jailbreak option comes with 807 hp supercharged V8-powered Challenger and Charger Hellcat Redeye models that include a standard 717 hp Hellcat engine. It also comes in multiple color options, trims, and appearance packages providing you with almost any combination you want.

Of course all the classic Dodge paint colors like the B5 Blue, Plum Crazy Purple, Destroyer Gray and Sublime Green will be available. If you have a specific car in mind that you just have to have, then you’re in luck! Dodge has released the dealer allocations for the entire model year, and it’s all online! You’re now able to track down the exact car you want before it’s discontinued.

The First Electric Dodge Muscle Car

Dodge might be one of the last automakers to hop on the electric train, but you’ve got to admit that they sure do know how to make an exit. The very first all electric Dodge muscle car is set to be released for the 2024 model year. The original concept for the Dodge electric car is the Charger Daytona SRT. It exhibits the same bulky, muscular exterior design that has been claimed by Dodge. We don’t know a lot about this new era of Dodge, but as always, our expectations are high and we are sure we won’t be disappointed with the outcome. There’s one thing for sure: Dodge is going electric, forever changing their V8s for volts.

The Ram 2500 offers a step up in the heavy-duty game with the all new 2023 Rebel trim with a variety of off-road upgrades.
  • The 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel is the best heavy-duty trim with different powerful engine options, sleek and rugged exterior design, and an interior full of modern technology.
  • One of the most notable features is the towing capacity of 16,870 pounds, and the payload rating is over 3,140 pounds.
  • The 2023 Ram 2500 is for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Ram is stepping up their heavy-duty game with the introduction of the all new 2023 Rebel trim. The Rebel trim will be available only on the Ram 2500. It will offer a variety of off-road upgrades that will have you ready to take on any terrain. Thankfully, you’ll be able to get your hands on the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel in no time at all! It should be available by the end of 2022! In the meantime let’s take a look at what makes this truck so special.

The Engine

The standard engine found in the Ram 2500 Rebel is a 410-hp 6.4-liter V-8. It can otherwise be ordered with a 6.7-liter turbo-diesel inline-six engine if you’re looking for something even more powerful. This diesel engine makes 370 horsepower along with 850 pound-feet of torque. This far exceeds the gasoline V-8 engine which is rated for 429 pound feet. Although either option is obviously powerful enough to get the job done, it’s just a matter of your preference.

The engine options for this beast are also both perfect for towing. The 2500 Rebel certainly won’t disappoint with its tugging capabilities. The maximum towing capacity is a whopping 16,870 pounds, and the payload rating is over 3,140 pounds. You also won’t have to worry about the efficiency of your truck being compromised as the six-speed automatic is a multi-range, electronically controlled transmission with optimized gear ratios. It also has responsive performance with low noise, vibration and harshness. Additionally, with the standard 6.4-liter V8 engine, the eight-speed automatic transmission offers fully electronic operation and on-the-fly shift mapping. These advanced features are not typically found in your average heavy-duty truck. Hence why the 2500 Rebel stands out from the crowd.

The Exterior

Not only does the performance of the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel far exceed its heavy-duty competitors, the exterior also looks better too. The Rebel has a Mopar Sport Performance Hood and a distinct grille giving it a sleek yet rugged look sure to impress any bystander. It also has massive 20-inch wheels on 33-inch off-road tires which are as functional as they are attractive. Lastly, there is also an available 12,000 pound winch that mounts on the front bumper of this machine adding to its rugged appearance.

The Interior

On the inside of the 2500 Rebel, you’ll find a bench with a combination of Gore-Tex and mesh premium cloth or bucket seats with deluxe leather upholstery up front. In addition to this, a REBEL embroidery and custom black door trim will complete the look of this sporty-chic design. You might also see the optional 12.0-inch digital gauge display which can show a variety of menus that are meant to give the driver a customized view of whichever information they wish to see. Whether that information may be towing, rock crawling, or stump pulling the driver will be able to display whichever task they need at any time. These driving settings will also be a distinct Rebel theme, no detail has gone unnoticed in the 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel.

The Tech

The 2023 Ram 2500 Rebel is designed with off-roading capabilities being the primary focus as you can see with its array of high-tech off-roading features. The Rebel’s limited-slip rear differential with an electronic locker prevents traction loss, optimizes engine power, and evenly distributes torque in order to master any off-road element from snow to sand. Substantial skid plates are also a part this off-roading truck’s design for additional protection of the transfer case and fuel tank.

There are several other high-tech integrations in the 2500 Rebel that we’re sure you’ll appreciate. The enhanced viewing range is possible with the Digital Rearview Mirror with side camera integration that features an LCD monitor. This provides a real-time video stream from a rear-facing camera. You can also park your trailer with ease with the use of the Trailer Reverse Steering Control system. This allows you to steer with the Trailer Steering knob while the system controls your truck’s steering wheel. With the new telescopic trailer tow mirrors, towing will be a total breeze as they extend and retract. They offer greater visibility, also allowing you to park in tighter spots.

There are many reasons why you should choose to buy a pre-owned car through a dealership rather than from a private seller.
  • Choose a car dealer for their quality reputation, negotiations, transparency, tax benefits, and more vehicle choices.
  • At car dealers, you can expect knowledgeable staff members to help you choose the right vehicle, explore finance options, and ensure you get the vehicle you want.
  • Barry Sanders Supercenter carries a wide selection of new and used vehicles in numerous makes and models at affordable prices.

Now, in 2022, is the time to start looking at used vehicles for your next car purchase. The automotive industry is still reeling from the chip shortage that has affected auto makers, as well as other distribution disruptions created by COVID-19. Gently used vehicles are now one of the smartest purchase decisions an individual can make when looking into buying a car, truck, or SUV.  When it comes to actually purchasing a used vehicle, you should put your trust in a dealer that will be able to provide you with the customer satisfaction you deserve. Keep reading to learn reasons to choose a car dealer for your next used car rather than buying from a private seller.

5 Reasons To Choose a Car Dealer

Here are 5 reasons why you should choose a car dealer when deciding on a used car purchase:

1. Quality Reputation

Buying a new car from anywhere other than a dealer is putting you at risk. For instance, a private seller will not have the capability to ensure the safety and reliability of a used car the same way that dealers do. Dealerships are able to provide used cars that have been inspected by a team of fully qualified technicians, and certain larger dealerships can even offer you a warranty on your used vehicle purchase. Who doesn’t like knowing that their investment is protected?

2. Car Price Negotiations

Buying a used car from a dealer enables you to have more power over your financial situation once you choose which used vehicle to buy. The dealer has the financial backing to ensure that you get a vehicle that is priced right where you need it to be. Private sellers will not be able to be nearly as flexible as dealers and you may end up paying more than you would at a dealership.

Additionally, car dealers are able to work with many different pre-existing financial situations to get you the lowest price on a used vehicle. They are perfectly suited to be the middleman between you and a lending institution to get you the best rate, the best term-length, and the best payments on a used car.

3. More Vehicle Variety

When choosing a dealer, you get the ability to have varieties of years, makes, and models that you would not have if you went outside of a dealership. We have all run into a situation where we do our research and test drive a vehicle we thought would be a great fit, but it’s nothing like we had expected. A private seller cannot switch you out of that used vehicle and into a better used car option to better fit your needs the way a dealership can. A car dealer is a one-stop-shop when it comes to getting you into a used vehicle that is right for you.

4. Transparency

When you purchase a used vehicle from a dealership, you are unknowingly receiving a level of transparency that other sellers cannot provide. Consumers are protected under laws that dealers must follow as well as providing the documentation of a used car’s maintenance history and reported accidents. The transparency you get from a dealer when buying a used car will help put you at ease over your purchase decision.

5. Tax Benefits

Did you know that you have a tax break coming on a trade-in that you would not get anywhere else? Not that many people are aware that when you trade your vehicle into a dealership, you are entitled to trade-in savings tax break. This tax savings could be worth hundreds of dollars that you save when you choose to buy a used vehicle from a dealer rather than a private party.

Shop at Barry Sanders Supercenter Dealership

When you choose a car dealer for your used vehicle purchase, you get a level of quality reputation that is unmatched. You also get the ability to negotiate more on pricing, a much wider range of used vehicles to choose from, transparency that ensures repeat business, and tax breaks that cannot be provided elsewhere. Now I may not be a genius, but when it comes to buying a used car, the dealership experience seems to be the obvious choice.

Looking for a wide selection of used vehicles? Look no further than Barry Sanders SuperCenter. Our dealership team is proud to serve you as you look into our extensive inventory of used vehicles. Chrysler has released their newest model, the 2022 Chrysler 300 with multiple trim options, while maintaining luxuriousness

  • The 2022 Chrysler 300 is a high-performing luxury vehicle that’s affordable for all and is for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, OK.
  • Different trims of the Chrysler 300 include Touring, Touring L Chrysler 300S, and Chrysler 300S V8.
  • The dodge Charger is the Chrysler 300’s biggest competitor, both vehicles pushing industry standards.

Say hello to the 2022 Chrysler 300! The Chrysler brand is known for its classic appeal and modern technology and this newest model is no exception to its typical luxuries. There’s a reason the Chrysler 300 has received best-in-class awards and sophisticated style because it’s the small details that set it apart from the competition. Let’s dive into the details about the new 2022 Chrysler 300!

History & Initial Thoughts

Chrysler is an auto brand that looks luxurious and feels luxurious without the luxury price. The 2022 Chrysler 300 has the total package with its high-performance driving, incredible horsepower and torque, and of course the beauty of it all that just cannot be beat.

Depending on the trim (and your budget), you have plenty of options like V6 versus V8 engine, 4 or 5 seats, leather or fabric interior, heated or not heated seats, etc. This makes it a very versatile vehicle that can fit you and your family’s needs. The Chrysler brand has been around since 1925 when it was founded by Walter Chrysler but not long after they  reorganized as what was once known as Maxwell Motor Company. Throughout its history, it has been a forward-thinking company, setting the standard for other brands and trends.

Picking Trims

There are a few different trims to choose from when picking your perfect Chrysler 300. What is the difference, you ask? Well, you just might have to pick your poison here because everyone is worth your while. Whichever model you choose, you really can’t go wrong.

2022 Chrysler 300 Touring

The base model Chrysler 300 Touring is a big, comfortable vehicle with a lot to offer by itself. As of April 2022, the base MSRP sat at just over $35,000 new. It features the tried and trusted 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine that produces 292 horsepower. It accomplishes an average 22 miles per gallon. If you’re someone who doesn’t care how many horses are pulling the wagon, take note of the spacious interior, comfortable seating, backup camera, touchscreen display on the dashboard, and the intuitive Uconnect system for your smartphone.

2022 Chrysler 300 Touring L

A step up in the line is the 2022 Chrysler 300 Touring L with a starting MSRP of $38,300. Take everything that the base model has and add heated, leather seats, optional all wheel drive, and a set of polished 18-inch wheels.

2022 Chrysler 300S

Next up in the 2022 Chrysler 300 Lineup is the 300S with a V6 engine. Some people initially believe this trim includes a V8 engine, but that is actually an upgrade that can be chosen at this trim level. This vehicle starts at $43,750 and has 363 horses under the hood with a V8. To top it all off, there are a few aesthetic upgrades like a subdued grille and wheels.

2022 Chrysler 300S V8

The most inclusive trim would be the 2022 Chrysler 300S V8. This “muscle car” has comfortable seating for up to  5 people. Note that although the V8 engine is much faster, going 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds, it is much more of a gas guzzler with a lower fuel economy. This vehicle has an 8-speed automatic transmission and sport-tuned suspension.

Competition Comparison

When hearing about the 2022 Chrysler 300, one its biggest competitors would be the 2022 Dodge Charger. In terms of safety, reliability, and interior, the 2022 Chrysler 300 takes the cake. Its upscale interior, powerful engine, amazing amount of passenger space, and user-friendly technology, it just doesn’t get better than that. There are a few areas where the two models are very comparable (if not the same). Fuel economy, drivetrain, and engine type are a few. Sizing in every area (wheelbase, overall length, width, and height) is another. All of this to say, if it is very comparable in the “standard” areas but excels in the style, space, and reliability areas, there seems to be an obvious choice.

Pushing the Envelope on Industry Standards

If all of this sounds way too out there, way too expensive, or just plain too luxurious, there might be an alternative solution. Have you ever heard of a ute vehicle? This term is used mostly in Australia and New Zealand, but perfectly describes a fully custom built mini pickup truck based on a 2006 Chrysler 300 Ute. This two-door vehicle may have a serious mileage of 125,000 miles, but it is in great condition and deserves to be talked about.

“The seller explains the project was finished a few years ago when the roof was cut off and the rear end was shaped by sheet metal that was welded to a custom steel framework and then to the existing shape of the body.” . Talk about innovation, am I right? Extra amenities on this vehicle include a full functional load area, 6.1L Hemi V8 engine (425 horsepower), and even a working subwoofer in the trunk.

The Hyundai IONIQ 6 is the new electric vehicle from Hyundai & will be available at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater
  • The IONIQ 6 is noticeably different from the IONIQ 5 in several different ways including the IONIQ 6’s sleek and unique shape, and its wheelbase is a few inches shorter.
  • The IONIQ 6 is more efficient that the IONIQ 5, and offers different engine and powertrain options as well as a more spacious and modern cabin design.
  • Both the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 are for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The specs for the new electric Hyundai IONIQ 6 sedan are in, and boy are you in for a treat. Actual full U.S. market specifications will not be revealed until this November. Specifically at the Los Angeles auto show, with North American market production slated for early 2023. Lucky for you that here at Barry Sanders Supercenter, we have the details that have been released. So keep reading!

Hyundai IONIQ 5 vs IONIQ 6

You’ve seen the Hyundai IONIQ 5, so how does the IONIQ 6 differ? For starters, their nicknames. One look at the new IONIQ 6 “electrified streamliner” sedan is all it takes to see why that nickname fits. On a more technical level, there are promises of the electrified streamliner to have a better range than the IONIQ 5. The IONIQ 6 rides on a 116.1-inch wheelbase that’s 2.0 inches shorter than the IONIQ 5’s. However, this allows the Ioniq6’s 191.1-inch body to be drawn out into a sleek, unique shape. A distinctively tapered “boat tail” rear end produces a very slick 0.21 coefficient of drag (the best Hyundai has achieved yet).

The fact that its roof stands 4.1 inches shorter than the boxier IONIQ 5 certainly helped VP of Hyundai Design, Simon Loasby, and his design team achieve that goal. However, the lowered roofline also has the added benefit of dramatically reducing the IONIQ 6’s cross-sectional area. This makes its low drag coefficient (Cd) that much more significant (Total drag is a function of Cd multiplied by cross-sectional area).

To Powertrain or Not to Powertrain (We Think Yes)

On paper, the powertrain offerings look very familiar to the IONIQ 5’s. The two cars are both built on Hyundai’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). You’ll have the choice of either single-motor, rear-wheel-drive, and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations. Overall, power output of the dual-motor version matches that of the IONIQ 5, with the AWD IONIQ 6 delivering 321 combined horsepower and 446 pound-ft of torque.

Additionally, two battery capacities will be available. The rear-drive model is available with either a 53.0-kWh or 77.4-kWh pack. The AWD model exclusively comes with a larger pack. As with the IONIQ 5, the powertrain’s 800-volt architecture allows the car to take advantage of high-output 350 kW DC fast-charging stations, which will reportedly lift the battery from 10 to 80 percent charge in just 18 minutes. Now that’s fast!

How Often Do I Need to Charge My Electric Hyundai?

Even though the 5 and 6 definitely have their similarities, they also have some remarkable differences. The IONIQ 6 seems to be far more efficient than the IONIQ 5. With that comes a significant boost in range and distance traveled. Hyundai predicts that rear-drive versions with the 77.4-kWh battery will be good for over 610 kilometers on the European WLTP cycle. By comparing that to the IONIQ 5’s confirmed WLTP and EPA figures, we estimate that the IONIQ 6 could earn an EPA rating of around 400 groundbreaking miles.

The slippery aerodynamic shape of the IONIQ 6 plays a huge role here. But, Hyundai engineers we spoke with said the 6 also benefits from a few powertrain optimization developments. These developments include next generation semiconductors in the inverter, reworked motors that now feature hairpin windings, and a re-optimized control strategy when switching between single-motor and dual-motor operation in the all-wheel drive version.

Hyundai IONIQ 6 Design Details

The IONIQ 6 looks significantly different from the chunky IONIQ 5. But, if you look closely you’ll see signature elements built into the head and taillights. Inside, the dual-screen instrument panel/infotainment interface is present. The 6 feels more spacious in the  front and rear despite its slightly shorter wheelbase. A 6-foot 2-inch tester is able to sit behind himself quite comfortably, which is a neat trick considering the aggressively tapered roofline. Additionally, center-mounted window switches allow for naked doors. It will be truly interesting to see how the speed-synchronized ambient lighting will play out, which gets brighter as speed increases. It is assumed there will be an “off” button.

Specific details about the configuration, performance, and pricing of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 will not be available until November’s L.A. auto show. The production of units bound for these shores will not commence until the first quarter of 2023. Still, the truly amazing range estimate that Hyundai revieled is substantially exciting. The IONIQ 6 looks set to offer a substantial boost over the competition. That will be even more significant considering the E-GMP platform’s 800-volt architecture and superior DC fast-charging capability, which we’ve already experienced with the IONIQ 5.

The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L series is a supersized version of itself with an extra foot of length to hold up to 8 people
  • The 2023 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L series are longer versions of the models, adding 7 inches between their axles, and 12 inches in total.
  • The noticeably larger cargo space is the only difference inside–no cutting back on seating arrangements.
  • The Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer L series are for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The Turbocharged and Stretched Jeep of Your Dreams

Jeep is rolling out their new and improved 2023 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer with the L Series. What does the “L” stand for you ask? Well, great things we answer. Actually, it just stands for long, but let’s get into why! In stereotypical American fashion, the already gigantic Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are getting super-sized with the introduction of new long-wheelbase variants for the 2023 model year. Jeep is keeping up efforts with domestic rival competitors such as the Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevy Suburban, Ford Expedition Max, and the Lincoln Navigator L which are all extended versions of their respective nameplates.

Coming in hot, these new three-row SUVs have a longer wheelbase, more cargo space, and standard Hurricane engines. The “L” versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer add 7 inches between their axles and 12 inches overall, greatly improving cargo space. Since the wheelbase grew in both models by an identical 7 inches, they are now measured at 130 inches long. Additionally, their overall length is extended by an entire foot to 226.7 inches. This growth spurt is any soccer mom’s dream! However, it does not contribute to passenger volume, just a noticeably larger cargo space.

Depending on which rows of seats are stowed, the Wagoneer L offers between 42- 131 cubes of cargo volume compared to the regular Wagoneer’s range of 27- 117 cubes. The Grand Wagoneer L actually has slightly less passenger space, 173 cubic feet versus 176, but we promise you won’t miss those 3 cubic inches but we’ll make up for it anyway. Speaking of, it has considerably more cargo space than the non-L Grand. It provides an extra 19 cubes, adding up to 113 total, behind the first row and an extra 17 cubes, adding up to 44 total, behind the third.

Interior of the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L series with comfortable seating for 8 or plenty of storage

More Power for the People!

Wagoneers not only have elongated space in the hindquarters for storing stuff, but both L Series models come standard with Stellantis’ new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. That’s a lot of car jargon, but let’s break it down. This engine has been coined the “Hurricane” and the 2023 Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L mark the formal debut of this engine. It pairs solely with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-, all-, or four-wheel drive. The previous models have the standard-output version that makes 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque, while the L Series has the high-output version with 510 horses and 500 pound-feet of torque. If you want even more towing capacity, the 510-hp version is currently available as an upgrade on 2022 Grand Wagoneers. With the standard wheelbase alone the stretched variant can tow up to 10,000 pounds! That’s a lot of lake time!

A Comparison

Comparing the 392-hp 5.7-liter V8 and standard V8, the L variants and their turbo-six need a bit less fuel. The standard-output Hurricane engine is rated at 19 mpg combined, 1 mpg higher than the new  5.7-liter model. The high-output Hurricane engine is rated at 16 mpg combined, 1 mpg more than the 6.4-liter.

The Jeep L Series Wagoneer come with fuel tanks that are four gallons bigger. The company says the stretched models weigh about 200 pounds more than their shorter counterparts. While improving gas mileage by 1 mpg is a win, you might be spending more on gas to fill up. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, but oh to dream if it were free to drive the crew around!

The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has amazing tow strength and can be used off-road as well

What to do with ALL of this space?

Have we mentioned the Jeep Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L will seat 8 comfortably? Yeah, that’s a lot of seats to take the kids to the lake, carpool from school and sports, or even a getaway road trip with the whole friend group. Beach day with the whole set up? No problem. New Dodge Vehicles 2022
  • Dodge unveils 3 new Dodge model concepts along with a production promise of a new model each quarter for the next 2 years.
  • Rumors of the new Dodge model name include the Dodge Cuda.
  • Find the new Dodge vehicles for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

If you fell for the Dodge Hydra April Fool’s joke, then you’re not alone. This joke has a lot of Dodge fans confused and asking themselves, is Dodge coming out with a new car, or not? Well, don’t be discouraged because Dodge is releasing the ideas of not one, not two, but THREE new Dodge vehicles all in 2022. There will be a new Dodge car, just not the one we originally thought.

Dodge Never Lift Campaign

Back in 2021 Dodge started their Never Lift Campaign which is a promise from Dodge that they will introduce at least 1 new product or announcement each quarter for the next 2 years with the finale being the reveal of the next generation of muscle cars. That means we will get a total of 16 announcements or new products within the next 24 months. Tim Kuniskis, Dodge CEO, teased the crowds in what these announcements might consist of: vehicle giveaways, a $150,000 salaried “chief donut officer”, and even the return of the Direct Connection program. One of the teasers that we can’t wait for is just a small symbol of Dodge’s electric logo which we now know that there will be a Dodge EV or plug-in hybrid in the list of reveals. The goal of this campaign is to redefine the definition of an American muscle car and its future.

Dodge’s First, Second, and Third Reveal

The first reveal will be an early version of Dodge’s EV that is set to be released in 2024. They don’t have an official name for this Dodge Charger EV, so for the sake of time, we will refer to it just as that: Dodge EV. With this first reveal, the details are in limited supply, but this is what we know.

  • It will have the revived Fratzog logo
  • The “concept version” will actually be able to move and drive
  • Dodge CEO describes it as a “new new vehicle”
  • Dodge CEO wants to do their EV different from everyone else
  • We expect that it will be a plug-in hybrid

That’s it, that’s all we know, and the last bullet point is speculation. This new Dodge vehicle better be pretty special to deserve a double word description (new new). Here at Barry Sanders Supercenter, we think that for the second reveal, the Dodge CEO is probably referring to the Dodge Hornet SUV that was teased back in July of 2021, but Dodge seems to be unpredictable in their geniuses. Skipping the details of the second Dodge reveal and moving right along to the third one, there is even less known about this third reveal than the first one. However, like the first reveal, we have our speculations about what this third reveal entails. Here’s a list of things that we think could be related to the third reveal:

  • Bringing back the 840 horsepower Demon engine, but upgraded
  • Introducing a Dodge Challenger convertible
  • An epic combination of the Dodge Durango with the Jeep Wagoneer design
  • Something that we can’t even fathom, but it will change the future understanding of the Dodge muscle car generation (but that’s the goal, right?)

The possibilities of these 3 new Dodge cars are endless, but they better justify the company killing off the loved Hellcat V8.

Name That New Dodge Vehicle

So, we know that Dodge is revealing 3 new vehicles. That means they will have to come up with new names, logos, or possibly revert to some of the classic vehicles from other brands like the ‘Cuda, the Angel, the Hornet, etc. Like we mentioned earlier, we already know that the cross-over Dodge SUV will take on the name The Hornet, which will be Dodge’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle. Now we’re thinking, why would the Hornet return, but the ‘Cuda won’t? Yes, the name did jump brands from brands like Chrysler to Dodge, but so did the Hornet. Remember the Hudson Hornet? Like in Disney’s movie, Cars. Now it’ll be the Dodge Hornet, so it could very well be the Dodge ‘Cuda. Let us know what you think the new name(s) for the Dodge cars will be.

Shop At Barry Sanders Supercenter For Your New Dodge Vehicle

Although Dodge fooled many people with their April Fool’s joke, they have made up for it by promising the reveal of three new Dodge vehicles all in 2022. We’d love to hear your ideas and thoughts about the possibility of Dodge’s April Fool’s hydrogen powered vehicle becoming a reality, what you think the new vehicle names should be, and your opinion on the discontinuation of the Hellcat V8. Until the next reveal, here at Barry Sanders Supercenter we carry a large selection of Dodge vehicles. Stop by in person or give us a call to talk more about your next Dodge car.

2022 World Car Of The Year Ceremony
  • The 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 won the World Car of the Year at the annual New York International Auto Show, as well as the World Car Design of the Year and the first-ever World Electric Car of the Year.
  • Hyundai also unveiled the 2023 Hyundai Palisade that has several new upgrades.
  • The Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Hyundai Palisade are for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The World Car Finals may have to change its name. After the dominance shown by one company during the car of the year awards, it may be better to rename it, “The Hyundai Awards”.

The annual New York International Auto Show, the World Car Finals is like the Oscars for the automobile industry. And the big winner this year was Hyundai.

Out of the six award categories, Hyundai won three of those honors. That includes the prestigious World Car of the Year .

2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 Wins World Car Of The Year

“Our vision is to enable Progress for Humanity, and this endorsement of our approach will serve to embolden our commitment to make this vision a reality,” said Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. “IONIQ 5 represents a pivotal achievement for us as we pioneer a new generation of smart mobility solutions with our innovative E-GMP platform technologies, exceptional performance and disruptive approach to design and space. IONIQ 5 has made a strong impression on increasingly eco-conscious consumers around the world, and its success supports the acceleration of electrification of the automotive industry. The pace of change at Hyundai will continue unabated through the rest of 2022 as we will soon be adding to our award-winning IONIQ range.”

The IONIQ5 beat out the Ford Mustang Mach E and the KIA EV6 to take home the top award. The Ioniq 5 got attention from a jury of 102 automotive journalists from 33 countries around the world.

The innovative battery electric vehicle (BEV), was a major reason for the car’s success.

The IONIQ 5 Wins More Awards

The IONIQ 5 also grabbed the World Car Design of the Year and the first-ever World Electric Car of the Year.

“It is a great honor for us. It means a lot to the entire Hyundai motor family. I’d like to say thank you to everyone on behalf of us at Hyundai,” Chang said. “For Hyundai, this is just one step in a long journey to provide more solutions for more people, in more places. We look forward to bringing more to market. Including more brands to the future. I’m confident our team will continue to deliver more designs and deliver sustained solutions and services.”

It should not have been a surprise that Hyundai would have such a banner day. Earlier in the program, Luc Donckerwolke, Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Vice President for Design and Chief Creative Officer was named the 2022 World Car Person of the Year by The World Car Awards jury panel representing 102 journalists from 33 countries.

Donckerwolke was chosen by the jury since he has held design responsibility for a number of highly innovative new models. Those models include the Hyundai IONIQ5, Genesis GV60 and Kia EV6, which were launched over the past year. All three automobiles were a finalist in at least one of the World Car categories this year.

“Imagine giving your kids a prize because he plays with his toys,” Donckerwolke said. “Well, this is how I feel. I’m just a tree hiding in the forest, meaning my great design team. There are good designers everywhere. What makes a difference is management that trusts and empowers the design. This is why I am so grateful to work with a group that trusts us.”

2023 Hyundai Palisade Also Unveiled

While it was a day to celebrate 2022, Hyundai officials were also looking ahead to the future with the 2023 Palisade SUV. The new Palisade still has a 3.8-liter V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Customers will notice right away the taller and wider grille that blends meaninglessly with the upper daytime running lights on the newly designed Palisade. A new trim level was also available, which they are calling the XRT. It has black roof rails and dark alloy wheels to give it a serious look. As do the 20-inch wheels

It also includes black faun leather, a sunroof, and a wider center screen (12-inches across, with 720p resolution). And for those who just like to show off, drivers of the 2003 Hyundai Palisade can move the automobile frontward and backward just using the key fob—while standing outside. Because of its size, this technology allows it to get in and out of small spaces a little easier.

“The design of the 2023 Palisade conveys dignified refinement with clear differentiation worthy of a flagship SUV,” a Hyundai spokesman stated. “A wider cascading grille form outlines rugged parametric shield elements for a premium appearance. The new forward lighting signature features vertically connected LED composite lights that frame the grille creating a sharp-edged, technical appeal. New, multi-spoke alloy wheels fill the wheel openings for a solid, premium appearance.”

The 2023 Palisade is expected to go on sale this summer. A price tag has not been announced as of yet. We have the newest vehicles like the Dodge Hornet, RAM 1500, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wrangler 4xe, and more! See you soon!

Jeep Logo On Blue Grill
  • The history of autobrand Jeep is a rich one filled with models from over 80 years ago including the first military vehicles.
  • Evolution of Jeep since the beginning, splitting up models via decade.
  • The future of Jeep is bright with fully electric Jeeps and you can find them for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, OK.

The first definition of Jeep has been long surpassed by its capabilities of just serving as a military vehicle. (Jeep: a small, sturdy motor vehicle with four-wheel drive, especially one used by the military). For more than 80 years, Jeep has been an SUV, truck, and even a convertible. It has been through war, hardships, and even a pandemic–but they are still going strong. Let’s take a look at the evolution of Jeep to see just how far they’ve come:

The First Jeeps

The military solicited 135 automakers for a military specific vehicle and only 3 decided to take the challenge in creating a vehicle with the difficult parameters. Those automakers were Bantam, Willys, and Ford. They collectively produced the vehicle that we know today as the Jeep. Now it is still a mystery of who/how they came up with the name Jeep, but there have been many theories out there. As far as the names of the first several models, Willy filled that space. Willys Quad (photo below) is the very first Jeep that was made back in 1940 to serve as a U.S. military vehicle.

Willys Ma (photo above), Willys MB, Willys Overland Truck, and a personal favorite, Willys Wagon (photo below) were just the beginning for Jeep. After the war, Jeep made its way into farmlands, becoming the number 1 vehicle for farmers–who woulda thought?! The Jeep was the work vehicle that everyone had to get their hands on, because it never fails to get the job done.

The photo above is of  its first interior updates. Aside from more cushiony seats, this particular model includes a single windshield wiper on the drivers side so even though you might be soaking wet, your windshield will be clear. All jokes aside, the early years of Jeep made some really impressive models, some that other automakers are still striving to replicate. Take the 1948 Jeepster for example (photo below). This is the very first Jeep convertible that gives vibes of youthful, sporty, and a little bit of Cruella DeVille.

Jeeps Of The 1950’s

Jumping to the 1950s, Jeep was bought by Henry J. Kaiser, who officially named the company “Willys Motor inc.” which is now owned by American Motors. During the 1950s Willys Motor inc. was named the world’s largest 4-wheel drive automaker. With Jeep growing in popularity, it was time for the company to start meeting regular civilian needs, like a vehicle with more space. Thus the Jeep CJ-6 was born (photo above) and the beginning of the evolution of Jeep. The 1950s were a crazy time for Jeep, exploring all of the possibilities of a vehicle, including this 1957 Jeep FC-150 (bottom) that looks like it came right out of Bob the Builder:

Jeeps Of The 1960’s & 1970’s

The evolution of Jeep continues in the 1960s, we start to see more of the Jeep classics, such as the classic all American dream car, aka the 1963 Jeep Wagoneer.

1963 Jeep Wagoneer

This very first luxury 4×4 SUV was every parent’s dream back in the day. This style of vehicle was number 1 in the U.S. for 28 years with only minor mechanical updates. That’s one of the longest same-vehicle production models in the history of U.S. vehicles! Sneaking a peek into the 1970s, Jeep’s models of the truck were starting to take off thanks to this special edition J4800 Camper (photo below). Going along with the idea of a work truck,  Jeep made several models of Jeep that include the Honcho, aka J-10 or J-20 (photo below the Camper) that were small 4 wheel drive pickup trucks. With the Honcho, which means boss, they worked with other brands like Levi, who did the denim interior of this truck.

The last 1970s Jeep vehicle we’ll take a look at is the Jeep Golden Eagle Package (photo above) which features the first Jeep sunroof. Aside from including the luxury aspect of a mesh top with a sunroof, this Golden Eagle Jeep also had a clock.

The Jeeps Of Today

Jeeps Of The 1980’s & 1990’s

The 1980’s kicked the evolution of Jeep into high gear. This iconic compact SUV is a rare sight in the 21st century, BUT we must admit that it’s pretty impressive when you see this oldie driving around town with ease. The first design of this Jeep Cherokee XJ (photo above) was made out of clay and took $250 million to actually create. It makes sense how it’s still around in 2022. Taking notes from the $250 million creation, the Jeep designers in the 1990s didn’t hesitate to draw inspiration from this authentic design, creating the 1993 Jeep Grand Wagoneer (photo directly below) as well as the 1997 Jeep Wrangler (photo below the Grand Wagoneer)  that was popular well into the early 2000s.

Jeeps Of The 2000’s

Looking more closely at the last decade, Jeep’s design has grown more modern. They are, however, also sticking to their roots with the ideas of a military vehicle working towards freedom and justice. The names of the models go along with the overall theme and goal of Jeep: Jeep Liberty-2022 (left), Jeep Wrangler Unlimited-2004 (middle), and the Jeep Patriot-2007 (MK) (right), just to name a few.

Jeeps Of The 2010’s

The 2010s are when Jeep impacted customers to the point where their global sales increased immensely and by 2016 they had sold 1.41 millions units. All models that helped this brand really pick up the pace are still widely sold and bought. A few examples being, the Jeep Renegade-2015 (left), the Jeep Compass-2017 (middle), and the most updated version of the Jeep Wrangler-2019 (right). Jeep has been making big moves since the very beginning. We are happy to announce that Jeep now has two windshield wipers instead of just one, with an extremely impressive and luxurious interior. Regardless of if it’s 1940 or 2022, Jeep has always kept the same goal when releasing new models of their vehicles: Go Anywhere, Do Anything with Jeep. To learn more about the evolution of Jeep, we encourage you to visit the Jeep website.

Silhouette of RAM 1500 EV
  • Ram discusses the release of a fully electric pickup truck set to be released sometime in 2024, and how their customers are able to have an input on the design.
  • The all electric Ram truck will be in competition with high performers including the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado.
  • Find Ram trucks for sale at Barry Sanders Supercenter in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Have you ever wished you could design a perfect dream truck that would be sold everywhere? Well now you can with RAM because they want your help to shape their future electric truck, the RAM 1500 EV. How exciting, right? A vehicle manufacturer that actually cares about what their customers want! So, what do customers want?

RAM Real Talk Tour

In our experience at Barry Sanders Supercenter, customers want a vehicle that they can rely on. A vehicle that can get them from point A to point B, safely, efficiently, and stylishly. But there are so many more possibilities of what your truck could look like. With this being RAM’s first mention of an All Electric Pickup Truck that is being released sometime in 2024, you might be questioning whether or not they will go above and beyond their competitors, or just stay on the straight and narrow. If you’re skeptical about the RAM Electric Truck, aka RAM 1500 EV, then you have the ability to tell them! They want to hear all your concerns and complaints about current electric vehicles, so that they can ensure that the RAM 1500 EV meets all their customer’s needs and wants. RAM is conducting a yearlong RAM Real Talk Tour where they will hold events that give real-world people, NOT actors (Chevy should take notes), the ability to say what exactly they expect from this new truck, and maybe help rename the RAM 1500 EV to something that rolls off the tongue a little easier. This is what people are saying so far:

  • “It’s gotta have giddy up and go. You gotta have the power to pull.”
  •  “Make it powerful. Make it last a really long time.”
  •  “It has to have good towing capacity. The charge would have to be substantial.”

You can add your two cents at RAMrevolution.com. It’s like having a free counselor!

RAM 1500 EV Truck Design

So far RAM has only shown a silhouette of the RAM 1500 EV as well as the platform that the truck will use which is a “skateboard-style”. That is 1 of the 4 EV platform styles that they are planning to release. They do this intentionally as a way to let the consumer’s imagination run free. First image that comes to mind for us is something you’d see out of the movie Tron Legacy:

Silhouette of the RAM 1500 EV due out in OKC in 2024

In reality, we can take a wild guess and assume that the new RAM 1500 EV will be more focused on the drive itself, making the truck a home away from home.

Competition Who?

We don’t know that much about the RAM 1500 EV, but what we do know is that other electric vehicles won’t have anything on the All Electric Pickup Truck. Although RAM’s new truck will be coming out after the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Chevy Silverado EV, the GMC Hummer EV, and the Rivian R1T, they have plans to surpass their competitors in all areas. That means that this truck will be able to tow more than 10,000 pounds, the quoted tow rating of Ford F-150 Lightning, as well as have a driving range that reaches nearly 500 miles–200 more miles than Ford. Who knows what else this truck could do? The possibilities are endless, it could have an on board minifridge for all we know! On RAM’s official website, they announced that they will have a full line-up of all electric vehicles by 2030, and we can’t wait.

Barry Sander Supercenter Will Sell The RAM 1500 EV

Revolution is a call for change, and the RAM 1500 EV silhouette itself could make someone become a RAM Revolutionist. Stop by Barry Sanders Supercenter to learn more about the RAM Revolution, tell us your opinion about the upcoming all electric pickup truck, and maybe even test drive a RAM truck that we currently have in stock. We have the newest vehicles like the Dodge Hornet, RAM 1500, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wrangler 4xe, and more! We carry new trucks as well as used RAM trucks and in a variety of colors, fuel type, cylinders, features, and drivetrains. If you want it, we got it, and just like RAM, we care about what our customers are saying.
