Stillwater, Oklahoma is home to the prestigious Oklahoma State University. For decades, Oklahoma State University has been one of the Southwest region’s largest and most respected universities. Along the way, it has formed a united family of students and alumni. The OSU family is about to become a lot bigger.
According to a report from Tulsa World, OSU welcomed its second largest freshman class in the college’s history this year. The class of 2019 consists of 4,200 freshmen. Among these students, a record 30% are minorities, a proud achievement for the university which increases the campus’ diversity.
Also receiving a class of 4,200 freshmen this year will be the University of Oklahoma. Their incoming class will be the largest in their history.
Along with a new class of freshmen, OSU will also receive a new safety application this year. The program, called Orange Shield, will allow students to instantly reach out to police with their smart phones.

In 1875, Walter Chrysler took his first breath. This is where the origins of Chrysler begin. Walter Chrysler’s father was a locomotive engineer. The apple did not fall far from the tree.
Walter Chrysler burst on the automotive scene in 1924 with the Chrysler Six. A pioneer of the 1920s, the Six came with a flat six-cylinder engine and the first four-wheel hydraulic brakes. A high compression engine means more energy and higher efficiency. Chrysler is only warming up in this stage.
Early Years of Chrysler
Early on in 1925, Chrysler won the 1,000-mile Stock Car Speed Trial and in 1928, placed 2nd, 3rd, and 6th at the Belgian Twenty-Four Hour Grand Prix. Also in 1928, Chrysler acquired Dodge Brothers becoming one of Detroit’s Big Three.
Chrysler was the first to use Floating Power, replaceable oil filters, one-piece curved windshields, and downdraft carburetors, as well as the first to test and produce a unit-body, aerodynamic car. Chrysler also had America’s longest-running automobile nameplate, the Chrysler New Yorker, produced between 1938 and 1996.
Let’s fast forward to 1951. This is where the V8 Hemi was born. The legendary engine that produces an unholy amount of power.
With the acquisition of Dodge and the birth of the Charger and Challenger, Chrysler would move itself to the forefront of American automotive.

The newest safety feature for Hyundai is the safe-exit assist. Safe-exit assist prevents children and impulsive adults from opening doors too soon. So far, the 2019 Santa Fe and the new 2020 Palisade have this feature. This gives you the choice to see it now, or later.
Activating the safe-exit assist is easy. On the driver’s side of the car, the push button is located next to the main lock and power window controls, just like child locks. Once the button is pressed, radar sensors in the back bumper keep the rear doors locked if moving cars are detected. The safe-exit assist feature works even when the car is not running.

Barry Sanders Supercenter: Named After A Legend
Even the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have to give credit where credit is due when it comes to Barry Sanders.
We’d say that people often ask us why we’re named Barry Sanders Supercenter, but as most people who visit are from Oklahoma, it’s not really the case. Just about everyone knows who Barry Sanders is, and why he’s worth being named after!
Barry Sanders was born in Wichita, Kansas, and started playing football at his local high school. In 1986, he enrolled at Oklahoma State University and played for the Cowboys right here in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Two years later, he became their starting running back after leading the nation in yards per kickoff return and scoring 8 touchdowns. After lighting it up at Oklahoma State University, it was off to the NFL for Barry. The Detroit Lions selected him with the 3rd overall pick in the 1989 Draft.
The rest, as they say, is history. Early concerns about Barry’s size were immediately thrown out of the window when he showed just how elusive he could be. A low center of mass, explosive speed, and incredible strength for his height made Barry a handful for his opponents.
Barry Sanders Sets The Bar
By the time he retired in 1999, Sanders’ college and professional career set the benchmark for many aspiring athletes. Sanders is a member of the college and professional football Hall of Fame, is ranked as the #1 most elusive runner in NFL history, holds the record for most 1,500-yard seasons at 5, and won countless other awards throughout his career and thereafter.
